Great Big Sea – Consequence Free

While many Great Big Sea songs are traditional Newfoundland tunes, adapted from old ballads or historical tales, "Consequence Free," one of three singles from Turn, was – according to Alan Doyle – inspired by a line from an Austin Powers movie.

We really became aware of Great Big Sea during our first trip to Newfoundland in 1999. I picked up some of their CDs at the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival and/or Fred's Records, though the old MPV only had a cassette, so we couldn't really listen to them until we got back home. While I tend to fall more for their traditional songs, I do appreciate this one too.
