Great Big Sea – Up
Up is the second album by Great Big Sea and the first to chart in Canada, eventually reaching #45 on the RPM album chart and going quadruple platinum in sales. AllMusic gave it 4.5 stars out of 5, saying that it is "appealing to both the traditionalist and the rock fan."
Four singles were released from Up: a cover of Slade's "Run Runaway," the traditional "Mari-Mac," and two Alan Doyle compositions, "Fast As I Can" and "Goin' Up." The album closer, "Rant & Roar," is included on this list of Great Canadian Songs.
