"Miss Chatelaine" was the scond single released from k.d. lang's diva breakthrough, Ingénue. While the song's lyrics probably have several layers of meaning, they refer most obviously to lang being named Woman of the Year by Chatelaine magazine in 1988.
Even though the song was never a hit in the U.S., k.d. lang was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "Miss Chatelaine" in 1994. She and Ben Mink won the 1993 Juno award as Songwriter of the Year.
