k.d. lang – Ingénue

Ingénue is k.d. lang's fifth album, her second without the Reclines and her first departure from country music.At the 1993 Juno Awards, Ingénue won for Album of the Year, while k.d. lang and Ben Mink won for Songwriter of the Year and, along with Greg Penny, Best Producer. Ingénue was also nominated for two Grammy Awards, Album of the Year and Best Engineered Album.

Ingénue was lang's biggest commercial success, charting in Canada (#13), the U.S. (#18) and the U.K. (#3),while going double platinum in the first two countries and platinum in the third. The album is ranked 13th in Chart's 1996 list of greatest Canadian albums, 37th in 2007's The Top 100 Canadian Albums book, 32nd in the 2011 Mar*Star poll, and 10th in CBC Radio's 2013 list, and was met with critical acclaim upon release:

"Constant Craving," "Miss Chatelaine" and "The Mind of Love" were all charting singles in Canada and the U.K., and the first two are also on this list of Great Canadian Songs.
