"Hockey Skates" is the third and final single from Kathleen Edwards debut album, Failer, which was hailed by the critics: Rolling Stone named her one of the artists to watch, Blender raved about the characters in her songs and Pitchfork compared her to Neil Young and the Band.
Edwards was nominated as Songwriter of the Year at the 2004 Junos for "Hockey Skates" and two other songs. "Hockey Skates" made the 2011 Mar*Star list of great Canadian songs.
