Kathleen Edwards – Back to Me
Back to Me was Kathleen Edwards's follow-up to her highly acclaimed debut, Failer. In the United States, the album made the lower reaches of the US top 200 album charts and peaked at #6 on the Top Heatseekers chart, while in Canada – in her own words – it was in "heavy rotation on the CBC" (whatever that means).
While more commercially successful than its predecessor, Back to Me received mixed reviews from the critics:
- AllMusic gives it 4 stars out of 5
- Robert Christgau said it wasn't worth buying, but "Back to Me" and "In State" were choice cuts
- Pitchfork rates it a 7.7 out of 10
- Rolling Stone and the Music Box gave it 3 stars out of 5
Album tracks "Back to Me" and "In State" were both released as singles.
