Bruce Cockburn – Wondering Where the Lions Are

Bruce Cockburn released "Wondering Where the Lions Are" as the single from his Dancing in the Dragon's Jaw album. It was Cockburn's first single to crack the US market and, in Canada, it made the RPM Top Singles, Country Singles and Adult Contemporary charts. It is also included among the greatest Canadian songs in the 1992 Mar*Star poll (#43), CBC's 50 Tracks: The Canadian Edition (#29), Bob Mersereau's The Top 100 Canadian Singles (#78) and the 2011 Mar*Star poll (#46).

Tracy and I were at a dinner this past weekend – one of those annual spring dinners that school board trustees get invited to – and one of the people at our table was telling us a story about being at the Songwriters' Circle at this year's Juno Awards (click here to hear it on CBC) and being disappointed that the host was Bruce Cockburn (he wondered why it wasn't someone younger and less washed up), but then being blown away by just how amazing Cockburn really is. We just smiled because Cockburn has amazed us pretty much every time we've seen him perform.
