Tragically Hip – Day for Night

Day for Night is the Tragically Hip's fourth full-length album. It topped the Canadian album charts for longer (4 weeks) than any other Hip album, was certified six times platinum (Canadian sales of over 300,000) within 11 months of release, and also reached the charts in Netherlands.

Day for Night received only three stars out of five from AllMusic, but was selected 21st in Bob Mersereau's The Top 100 Canadian Albums and 66th in CBC Radio's the 100 Greatest Canadian Albums Ever, and spawned three top 40 Canadian hits, "Grace, Too" (#11), "Greasy Jungle" (#8) and "Nautical Disaster" (#26).

Day for night is the technique of shooting a film scene during the daytime to make it look like nighttime, although I am only guessing that the Hip took the album name from that.
