Spirit of the West – Save This House
Save This House is the fifth album from Spirit of the West, but the first on a major label. The title track and "Home for a Rest" were both released as singles, with the former reaching #85 on the Canadian charts and the latter establishing itself on university stations (and making this list of Great Canadian Songs).
While Save This House enjoyed commercial success, peaking at #62 and going platinum in Canada, and is obviously appreciated by my Facebook friends, AllMusic gives it the lowest rating of all Spirit of the West albums (2.5 stars out of 5).
We have seen Spirit of the West play a couple of times, including with the Irish Descendents at the Concordia Club during Oktoberfest, but, unfortunately, not as an opening act for Great Big Sea at the John Labatt Centre (they cancelled at the last minute).
