"Harmonie du soir à Châteauguay" is the first track on the second side of Beau Dommage's eponymous debut album, released in December 1974. In 1975, it was released as a single with "La Complainte du phoque en Alaska" and became a monster hit. The song is included in Roger Chamberland and André Gaulin's La Chanson Québécoise anthology.
In the summer of 1977, I went on a bicycle trip from the Sault to a Bible camp near Rouyn-Noranda with my brother Tim, who was then living in Quebec City. I suspect that is when I was first turned on to contemporary Quebecois music.
