Beau Dommage – Beau Dommage
Beau Dommage is the debut album from the band of the same name. It was extremely popular, achieving triple platinum status for sales of over 300,000.
Several singles were released from the album, including "Le picbois," "Tous les palmiers"/"Montréal" and "La complainte du phoque en Alaska," and several other tracks, such as "Harmonie du soir à Châteauguay" and "23 décembre," are considered Quebecois classics.
I'm pretty sure that my brother Tim introduced me to this album, probably during our bicycle trip to the Rouyn-Noranda area of Quebec, circa 1977, although I am not sure when I actually picked up a copy for myself.
