Weakerthans – Tournament of Hearts

I am sitting in a hotel in New Westminster, BC, watching the Tournament of Hearts on TV, live from St. Catharines, "peeling off the label as they peel a corner guard," and the Weakerthans' song keeps going through my head.

Undoubtedly the best song ever written about curling, arguably the most Canadian sport of all, "Tournament of Hearts," a track on the fourth album from Weakerthans, is an extended metaphor between the sport of curling and a relationship.
