Murray McLauchlan – Farmer's Song

"Farmer's Song" became Murray McLauchlan's first top 10 hit, reaching three different RPM charts in 1973: country, singles and adult contemporary. McLauchlan has written a lot of great songs over the years and I've seen him perform several times, never once being disappointed or looking at my watch wondering when it will be over (unlike some of those Neil Young, Bob Dylan or even U2 concerts).

Of all my siblings, my eldest brother, Rod, is probably the one who has introduced me to the least music, but I do associate "Farmer's Song" with him, though the timeline suggests that he probably didn't introduce the song to me: maybe it was just because of those summers that Rod went off to work on Elam's farm.
