Murray McLauchlan – Whispering Rain

Whispering Rain is the seventh studio album released by Murray McLauchlan. It reached #14 on the Canadian country charts and #42 on the Canadian album charts in 1979.

Whispering Rain spawned three hit singles: "Whispering Rain," "You Can't Win" and "Somebody's Long Lonely Night." It was given 3.5 out of 5 stars by AllMusic.

When I took second semester off from grade 11 to bag dirt with my brother Tim in Toronto, I saw McLauchlan play one evening at Ontario Place, but what was most memorable was his hour-plus warmup in the afternoon – I was one of only two people in the audience. This album wasn't out yet: I associate Whispering Rain more with the summer between grade 11 and 12 that I spent working with my brother Rick for Manfred the bricklayer.
