"Diana" was written and performed by sixteen year-old Paul Anka, supposedly about an older girl he had a crush on. It proved extremely popular, with reported sales of over nine million copies and numerous cover versions, including in various languages. It is often included in lists of the greatest Canadian songs: the 1992 Mar*Star poll (68th), CBC's 50 Tracks: The Canadian Edition (40th), Bob Mersereau's The Top 100 Canadian Singles (94th), Huffington Post's Best Canadian Songs Ever (26th), and CBC's Best Canadian Songs Ever (49th).
