"Gordie and My Old Man" is the final track on the Grievous Angels' second album, One Job Town, released in 1990, produced by John Switzer and nominated for a 1991 Juno Award as Best Roots or Traditional Album. It is one of two singles from the album that garnered some national radio airplay.
Although I had been a fan of L'Etranger, with whom Chuck Angus recorded three EPs, I hadn't heard of Grievous Angels until my brother Tim introduced this album to me around the time of the 1992 Mar*Star poll.
