New Musical Express ranked it the 25th best and Rolling Stone the 42nd best song of the decade, while CBC ranked it the 5th, the Mar*Star the 25th and Bob Mersereau the 29th greatest Canadian song of all time. Its anthemic sound has made it a great sports team theme song (e.g., New York Rangers, Burnley, Aston Villa) and soundtrack item.
