Leslie Spit Treeo – Talkin'

"Talkin'" is the tenth track on The Leslie Spit Treeo's debut album, Don't Cry Too Hard. Although never released as a single – the Spit's splendid cover of John Prine's "Angel from Montgomery" was, "Talkin'" was a fan favourite and Tracy embraced it as a bit of a theme song for us: "It ain't talkin' that we've been lackin'." I can still remember Laura Hubert hanging off a column at the Maryhill Tavern, belting it out salaciously.

The Leslie Spit Treeo won the 1991 Juno Award as the Most Promising Group, though they didn't ever live up to the promise of that first album.
