Celine Dion is Céline Dion's second English-language album and the one that really put her over the top internationally. It includes the Grammy and Academy award-winning "Beauty and the Beast," the theme song for the Disney blockbuster, as well as "Love Can Move Mountains," a massive dance floor hit, and "With This Tear," written specifically for her by Prince.
Céline Dion was nominated for seven Juno awards in 1993, including Album of the Year, Single of the Year for "Beauty and the Best" (winner) and "If You Asked Me To," and Best Dance Recording for "Love Can Move Mountains" (winner). Those three songs and "Nothing Broken But My Heart" all reached the top 40 in the United States.
While Celine Dion was a commercial success – selling over 1 million copies in Canada and 5 million copies worldwide, it received mixed reviews (and I didn't bother replacing the CD when it was stolen from my collection during a break-in one Christmas when we were visiting the Sault):
