Chilliwack – Chilliwack

Chilliwack is the second album – and the second called Chilliwack – from the band of the same name. It is a double album: side one features radio-friendly songs, while the other three sides each contain a lengthy composition.

Chilliwack was a commercial success in Canada, reaching number 10 on the album charts, while the single, "Lonesome Mary," made it to number 9 on the Canadian singles chart and number 75 on the US chart. AllMusic gives it 3 stars out of 5.

I had mostly forgotten about Chilliwack until seeing the resurrected band at the Kitchener Blues Festival this summer, but I dug out my two Chilliwack albums and found this one – with its weird mixture of folk, jazz, blues and rock – to be quite interesting.
