Joel Plaskett – Truthfully Truthfully

After leaving Thrush Hermit, a band that Kieran Joyes introduced me to, Joel Plaskett cut one album under his own name and then took on the moniker The Joel Plaskett Emergency. Truthfully Truthfully is the second album released under that latter name.

I recently picked up a copy of Truthfully Truthfully from a Beat Goes On for $5.99 and it has definitely been well worth the price. I hope to see Plaskett when he and his father, Bill, play the Starlight in Waterloo on April 5th or 6thWe did see the second show and it was better than we had expected. Although they mostly focused on cuts from Solidarity, their album together, Joel did perform "Come On, Teacher" from Truthfully Truthfully, as well as some other songs from his oeuvre..

Truthfully Truthfully was nominated for a Juno Award as the Best Alternative Album of the Year in 2004 and won the Rock Recording of the Year at the 2005 East Coast Music Awards.
