Jazzberry Ram – SuperFishyAllahTea

SuperFishyAllahTea is the first release from British Columbia's Jazzberry Ram, a fiercely independent band led by the Stewart brothers. This is one of those things that only my friends and family would select, as Jazzberry Ram never had a record deal and built their reputation through word of mouth and coast-to-coast tours, though SuperFishyAllahTea was an underground hit, selling more than 10,000 copies.

My brother Tim told us about the band – he had seen them play in Edmonton, so Tracy and I went to see them at Mrs. Robinson's at the old Station Hotel, a short walk from our house in Kitchener. We bought the CD at that first show – we saw them on several subsequent visits, including one memorable concert with Dave and Sue Henrich – and Tracy had them all sign it.

"Pablo Jack Horner," included here on this CD in two versions (and re-recorded for subsequent CDs, a couple of which we own), was a college radio hit in Canada.
