Skydiggers – Restless

Restless, released in 1992, proved to be Skydiggers' most commercially successful album, peaking at #34 on the RPM Album Charts. Although AllMusic gave it only 3 stars out of 5, Restless garnered Skydiggers the Most Promising Group laurels at the 1993 Juno Awards.

I'm trying to remember when and where I saw Skydiggers live – probably at one of those outdoor festivals we used to drag the kids to on a summer day to hear the latest Canadian bands. The late 1980s/early 1990s were a great time for Canadian music, as Michael Barclay, Ian A.D. Jack and Jason Schneider ably argue in their glorious tome, Have Not Been the Same: The Can-Rock Renaissance 1985–1995, and as a perusal of the RPM Charts of the time reveals.

"A Penny More" (#27 Adult Contemporary, #36 Hit Singles) and "Feel You Closer" were released as singles, while "It's Sunday Pouring Down Rain" gets a spin on my stereo whenever it is and it is.
