Anne Murray – This Way Is My Way

This Way Is My Way is Anne Murray's second album, the first on a major label and the first released in the US (slightly reconfigured as Snowbird).

The album peaked at #13 on the Canadian RPM charts. Snowbird gets mixed reviews from the critics, likely depending on their affinity to clean-cut country folk:

When we did this poll in 1992, in celebration of Canada's 125th birthday, Murray's third album, Honey, Wheat and Laughter, made the list: I'm not sure what tipped the scales twenty-five years later in favour of this earlier effort, but perhaps it is the presence of three songs written by the late great PEI songwriter Gene MacLellan, including the hits "Snowbird" (#2 Canada; #8 US) and "Bidin' My Time" (#87 Canada). Eric Andersen's "Thirsty Boots" was released as the first single from the album.
