Whitehorse – The Fate of the World Depends on This Kiss
The Fate of the World Depends on This Kiss is the second album by Melissa McClelland and Luke Doucet, a real-life married couple, as Whitehorse. It was shortlisted for the 2013 Polaris Music Prize. While it was not reviewed by international critics, Now Magazine gave it 4 out of 5.
I find the packaging for The Fate of the World Depends on This Kiss to be wastefully useless – it has five fold-out panels that contain no additional information about the songs or recordings, just pictures of McClelland and Doucet.
We finally got to see Doucet and McClelland this April at the Starlight in Waterloo. Their use of different instruments and loop pedals to build a song was very enjoyable, and their voices were often transcendent.
