Don't Cry Too Hard was the debut album from The Leslie Spit Treeo, an alternative folk group that began its life busking in Toronto. The band got its big break when they were used in Bruce McDonald's film Roadkill and "The Sound" was included in the soundtrack. In 1991, they won the Juno award for Most Promising Group, toured the US opening for The Alarm, and released three singles, John Prine's "Angel from Montgomery," "Heat" and "UFO (Catch the Highway)."
While many people may not know Don't Cry Too Hard at all, we listened to it so much that it is one of the few that I have on both vinyl and CD. We saw them at the Maryhill Tavern with Rick and Sande, and at a folk festival in Kingston with Frank Huntley.
